I’m not sure what I want to do for my final project yet, but I do know that I want to do an animation in photoshop. I really liked how my last one turned out. I do know that I want to take some stills from my animation and display them though. I’m just not sure what the animation should be about yet

These are a few animations I made in adobe photoshop. I was having a very hard time thinking of something interesting to do, so i played around with it quite a bit, making a few different ones, but I ended up liking the road one best.

Metaphor- a metaphor is something that is being used to represent something else.

this is an ad that uses visual methapor to compare smoking to being hooked like a fish.

This piece is inspired by my dreams; I am constantly having nightmares about zombies. I decided to do this piece because unlike my dreams I get to decide how the story goes and ends; I also can put a lighter more comical feel to it with my cartoon characters. I tried to make the background look dark and frightening, someplace I would not want to be, but I wanted to still make the characters look kind of comical in a way so I made them much lighter. What I get from this piece is that it is just one single shot in a long story. I like that because it means that anyone can interpret what exactly is going on and make it whatever they want to.

To create this piece I first drew out my cartoon characters in my sketchbook, I then scanned in my images and using the paint bucket, the paintbrush, the dodge and smudge tool I colored in my characters. After that I found a background image I wanted, cut out the sky and replaced it with darker clouds and added fire to the background.

Analyze an ad

This ad to me is a fairly successful ad. When I first look at it my eye is led through the piece from the top of her head following her hair to the center of the piece and then finally to the very bottom, where her hair is sweeping off to the left making an easy transition to the slogan and actual product.

This ad uses a very soft color scheme using natural colors like the light blue of the background and the light browns of her skin and the darker brown of her hair. This color scheme works very well for this piece because it is an ad for a hair product. They would want to get the image across of being natural, because you would buy the product so your hair could be naturally beautiful too.

The texture is one of the most important parts of this ad and the reason that it is successful for the product. The background of this piece is a crumpled piece of paper, it has a very rough ragged edge to it, whereas the foreground, which is her hair is in contrast very smooth and silky looking.

The contrast in this piece come from the differences in the in the texture and the color.

The type of this piece is also successful because it is fairly small in the corner. it is also a very straightforward font so that they get their message of the slogan across but that it’s not the most important thing in the ad. The want you to notice it but not focus on it.

The piece is centered in the middle for the most part but it is not symmetrical, it is also slightly heavy on the bottom so you will be drawn to the ad.
